The Absurd Greet, in Brussels
Solo exhibition that was part of the Brussels Design Festival at the Alto Galleria in Ixelles from 07/09/2024 – 31/12/2024. A multidisciplinary collection of pieces that range from short films to clothing, paintings, collages and 3D creations. Metal castings with hand engravings, ludicrous face paintings, unique screenprinted, hand sewn clothing pieces and much more.
The Absurd greet, a greeting in an absurd manner, a mix of techniques from 3d pieces, to paintings to clothing pieces. The artist works with the concept of anti-normalization and giving a face to everything he can, heavily inspired by the movement of metamorphosis, dadaism and surrealism.
Lately Jacopo Koning has been focusing on the obsession of the metamorphotic face illustrations and graphical pieces who have been either digitally or physically created. Some pieces are digitally or screen printed on fabric, film or plexiglass and the other ones have been made using acrylic paints and felt tip pens.
